Swine Flu, is it you?

NO! Emma tested negative yesterday. While I am relieved, the pediatrican warned us that the test is not 100% accurate and gave us a tamiflu prescription for the "future." I guess he must also think it is inevitable. I got this picture in an email forward that I thought was both fitting and hilarious.

Swine Flu Taken to the Extreme

Rematch!

Emma and Daisy decided they should play tug-of-war. Things get a little heated at the 40sec mark. Daisy won. Emma scolds her. The score: Daisy 2, Emma 0. This is nothing compared to their fight over Daisy's treat ball yesterday. A battle that won Emma a little "time out."By the way, the thing they are playing with is mommy's belt. It's okay girls, I didn't really like that one anyway :)

They quickly got over it and were back in love with each other in no time. Daisy is so good with Emma. For all the tail pulling, and treat/food stealing Emma does (often pulling food right out of Daisy's mouth), she just returns the assaults err "attention" with love love and more love.

Fort Riggs

Like most places this time of the year, it is getting cold here. Instead of finding fun outside, we decided to stay in this morning and building a fort in the living room! I have great memories of playing in couch forts at my grandparents. It turned out the Emma L-O-V-E-D it! Actually, she loved it so much that I had some serious explaining to do when it came time to take down the fort :)
"wohoooo!"

"mommy you are so funny!"
"PEEK!"
Daisy isn't sure what the big deal is, but
she joined in the fun to (especially because there
cheerios involved)
"what are you doing in my fort mommy?"
"I love Fort Riggs"
Call us General Mills, will model for lifetime supply

Dear Camera Memory Card,

All things Emma

Life is raging on for us. We have been busy doing lots of fun things so I'm going to try to sum up everything in this one post. Take a deep breath and lets get started.

Emma is in love with all things she can climb on. This is a big
accomplishment. She used to try and get so frustrated at this car!
Is the cutest lotion lover out there. She is completely
obsessed with lotion bottles which she calls "baba"
"This NOT the lotion that is squeezed
out all over the carpet...that's the lotion
Daisy was playing with"
This how most of the pictures I take are ending up.
What happened to my sweet girl who would pose?
We went to the pumpkin patch where we experienced
our second major temper tantrum...(but she happened to
love the tractor!). "No dad I am STAYING ON!"
"I LOVE playing in my crib now!"
"...but still won't sleep in it"
still melting our hearts...
This past week I

1. have been asked (by two parents) if I was Emma's mom under kidnapping suspicions when I had to carry her out of daycare screaming her head off and wrestle her into the car. I was asked if "she was okay."
"Um No she is not okay! Does she look okay? I'm also not okay. P.S. mind your own business"
2. learned that while I was correct in assuming I would use the mom phrase "because I said so," I did not expect it would be on my husband. :-)
3. learned what vomiting sounds like and smells like at 60mph on the interstate. Coincidentally I also learned how to take apart and reassemble the princess' mega car seat.
4. learned that while my daughter might be "strong willed" as they say (ahem), she is the funniest and best dancer I know!

There is something about an upside down laundry basket that gets Emma on her soap box and gives her dance fever.

Drama Queen

Oh, the crazy emotions of a 14 month old! I can't say I can't relate. Most days I would love to throw myself on the floor, screech like a wild baboon, pull my own hair out, bite/hit the person next to me and use all my "angry words" in a language that no one else understands.... Emma gets to have all the fun. Then after humiliating her mother in public she chugs some milk, throws back a few cheerios, and forgets it ever happened. "What's wrong mom, your face is all red? What happened??"

Note to new moms: The straps in the cart at Walmart are not for safety, they are for restraining.

A little demonstration (all fake, all temper). I've said it before. I'll say it again. This must be a Riggs trait. Everyone knows the Robinsons are a peaceful people :)

P.S. All I was trying to do was get a clip of her first bruise (from daycare), and all she wanted was my camera.
P.P.S. I won. I'm the mommy. I'm the boss. Hmph!
