Baby Shower Pictures!

Thank you to those who sent pictures!! I'm so happy to have them! This was such a fun day. Here they are....

The three preggos (instead of the the three amigos??? anyone? funny?) First is my cousin Tricia (due at the end of August), me (due beginning of October), and Dan's cousin Sara who is due in a couple of weeks! We are all having girls, but oddly chose blue for the occasion.

That's right Tricia! I did it! I don't even care how awful I look. It's worth it to get you on film!!!

Only because I feel a little guilty about posting pics of Tricia without her permission (you know how sensitive preggos can be). Check out these ankles! Mine are on the left, just kidding mine are the 500 pound woman ankles on the right. The slender cute ankles are Tricia's. Damn her. Those fatty ankles were well earned after a flight to Syracuse (with connection), 10 hours of standing as a dutiful bridesmaid (yeah, those pics are coming soon too!) and days of ignoring every one's advice to "get them up." They look a little better now. I was happy to serve as the circus freak. My sister greatly enjoyed it. If she keeps picking on me I will post how much weight she gained with Isabelle. There. Consider yourself warned girlfriend!! :) lol

Cake baked by Dan's mom Karen. So pretty and so tasty!

The darling rocking chair Dan's mom painted for Emma. I love it!!

This little doll is my newest niece Maddy. She is such a little hamburger.

Me and my sis, Kiley. Who is also serving as the middle of the night desperate to get baby to stop crying phone call. Thanks Ki!

My niece Isabelle who spent most of her time swimming. She is so cute!

Dan's cousin Casey who entertains Isabelle. She was also a flower girl in our wedding but now she is a teenager who I hardly recognize!

Dan's family: Cousins Sara and Casey, aunt Cindy, mom (and the woman behind such a great party) Karen, me and grandma Blair. Babies Emma and Carly (Sara's) will be grandma Blair's 3rd and 4th great grandchildren.

Still not "okay"

You may recall we had a new roof put on back in March. We were reassured that the shingles would lie down under the blazing heat. No worries. Well, here it is July and some of those shingles are no better, and some might be getting worse. Ugh! Pregnancy hormones, 90 degree heat, and mucho dinero for a half-%$& roof job makes me very cranky. Check out these gems.

Under 100 days, baby room in progress and more...

We are so excited to have less than 100 days before baby Emma is due to arrive (see ticker on the right)! Dan's mom threw the most precious baby shower for me last weekend. I'm hoping to get some pictures to post since I forgot my camera and am now at the mercy of others for pics. There were cute pink table cloths, beautifully blooming flowers, fun games, tasty food, thoughtful gifts and lots of the people I love! So if you attended and are a faithful blog reader THANK YOU!!! We have *started* to organize baby's closet and I've posted some pics of the work in progress. Thanks to the "daddy to be" for cleaning out what used to be the "spare/junk" closet.

Practical Gifts Keep on Giving!

While I was out of town last weekend my husband proved he is the greatest husband EVER! He surprised me with a new dishwasher!!!! He decided hand washing everything is not practical with a baby on the way so I am kissing my "dish hands" goodbye. Who says complaining gets you nowhere? I'm currently running my first load of dirty dishes and the laundry machine in the other room is louder. Some people say that appliances are not the way to a woman's heart, but I disagree. This woman now has spare time on her hands.

No More "Black Thumb of Death"

That's right people of blog land. You read that title correctly! After losing tomatoes, strawberries, watermelon, and cucumbers to ground hogs, raccoons, birds and squirrels, I have finally grown a fruit! I planted a dwarf peach tree 2 years ago just after we moved into the house. The advertisement said it would produce fruit the 2nd year so I have been scouting out the branches of my little tree with little hope (need I say more?). Then I saw it! I have a peach!! Yes, it's just one so I won't be making any pies, but a success no less! 2 years of land cultivation failures are in the past! Here is my proof!!

sweet success!

A Ballerina Perhaps?

Baby Emma is a wild child! I tried to capture some of her moves on tape and despite my better judgement I'm posting it for you all to see (around 4 seconds). **Viewer Discretion advised, nakey preggo belly coming your way** What can I say. I have no shame :)

23 week belly shot

Here I am in all my glory at 23 weeks. Emma continues to grow! She is getting very busy in there and mostly at night when I'm trying to sleep. I'm hoping she will change her night owl ways before her big arrival! I'm starting to feel some of the aches and pains such as sore back and swollen throbbing feet that are associated with the weight gain (sorry no specifics available on the weight gain:). I spent my Macy's birthday gift card (thanks to Dan's mom!) on Dr. Scholl's flip-flops. I walked straight past the shiny new cute shoes gleaming with their narrow soles, thin straps, shiny buckles and 3 inch heals... and bought my grandma shoes with pride! All kidding about my rhinosaurus pancake feet aside, I LOVE being pregnant. I love my belly, I love feeling the baby move and everything else that comes with this journey.
