They are Back.

Ear infections are jerks. I despise them. What were doctor validated healthy ears on Monday appear to be infected ears on Thursday. Here we go again. Ugh!

Nope. Apparently ears leak all the time. No infection per the nurse practitioner's opinion. Okay then. See you next week!

Omnicef + Emma = Disaster

Emma came down with a simple upper respiratory infection last Thursday and the usual ear infections that come along with her runny nose. Standard by the book, normal stuff. Nothing wild, not even a respectful fever. Just a measly 100.2 degrees. Child's play.

That was until we woke up this morning and discovered that our girl had an allergic reaction to the 4th dose. This is just a little of what was covering her entire body. Poor girl. Thankfully we caught it before the next dose, a dose that our pediatrician said could have been "life threatening."

Of course this had to happen the ONE night we decide to let her "CRY IT OUT" and put herself to sleep. Feeling like the worst mom ever and so thankful that her reaction wasn't as severe as it could have been. A special thanks to Emma's guardian angel :)

So in the future Emma can no longer have this family of antibiotics which pretty much stinks because it is the only one her little ears aren't resistant too.

This had her thrashing around like a wild baboon,
itchy, itchy, itchy
Her latest and most forbidden form of entertainment.
Of course I turned a blind eye! And of course I
locked that cage as soon as all fingers and toes were clear!
so happy to be in the filthy (and that is generous) dog kennel
The dog thinks that antibiotic may have affected
her brain....

Pretty Girl

Baby Emma is a baby no more. She is a little girl. A wild, creative, joyful, curious, mischievous, and loving little girl. She is so much fun these days. She gets into trouble, mostly with the dog. She picks on the dog. She lies about the dog hurting her, just to get her hands on a smelly, slobber soaked, hair covered dog toy. She will stop at nothing. I admit that I've been outsmarted by her more than once. I love her determination.

I hope you can appreciate my determination to take pictures of her....with my cell phone.....for now:)

Happy Half Birthday!

Today is Emma's half birthday! She is 1 and a half! We celebrated by all indulging in half cupcakes and taking 1/2 of a nap (the second was not encouraged or part of the celebration). Emma is all about sweets so she was pretty happy :)

Oh the many flavors of crayons

Emma loves to color. Recently she has developed a craving or two for those crayons. I've tried taking them away from her one by one when I catch them in her mouth, but honestly it isn't working. She is eating a lot of crayons these days. I don't want to put a damper on her creativity but seriously I'm starting to wonder how many crayons are too many crayons to consume.

P.S. Red is her favorite flavor :)

Yogurt Love

Do we own spoons? Yes.
Can Emma use them? Yes.
Does she use them? Yes...for 5 seconds...

Gotta love bath time!!!

Say "Hi"!

Emma can do it. Can you?

I've been researching some tips on "blog safety" and I have a nice little tracker that shows where people are viewing my blog from. The majority is from NY and PA, but I'm getting some blog love from other countries as well. So, I'm a little curious.

If you are a dedicated blog stalker or an occasional nosy neighbor please say hi! It's easy, click on "comments" then "anonymous" (if you so choose) and type away! Include your name or don't. It's up to you. However, if you would like to be on the Riggs Christmas Card list (and the laughter begins) you should leave your name. It would be great if you would say where you are from and how you found us!
