Emma tries (and sometimes succeeds) in telling me "stories." Most of the time when I catch her I tell her, "that's bologna." She is obsessed with gum. She can spot someone chewing gum a mile away. Today I tried to get her out of her carseat and conceal gum in my mouth (fail). I learned that she hears and understands way more than I thought.
Emma: Mom, WHAT'S IN YOUR MOUTH!!?? (excitement mounting)
Me: Nothing (dang)
Emma: What are you chewing on? Is it GUUUM? (inspector Emma totally convinced)
Me: No, it's nothing
Emma: ....smells good
Me: ......because I brushed my teeth, you should try it.
Emma: (ever so subtle and quiet) ....Your chewing bologna mom....
