Today is no different than any other day
It is ALL about ME!!

"I am now 16 weeks, 2 days pregnant.  I have started to show, and I am so proud of my belly!"  We heard the baby's heart beat today.  The sound is by far the most amazing blessing I have received"
-Krista's Journal, April 24, 2008

"I'm so excited to find out if the baby is a boy or girl.  I don't have a preference, but Dan thinks a little girl would be nice.  I've been thinking it is a boy.  I'm probably right"
-Krista's Journal, April 25, 2008

"We decided to name the baby Emma Grace Riggs.  She is kicking all the time.  I love her so much already.  I hope she grows up knowing how much we wished for her"
-Krista's Journal, May 29, 2008

"Emma! You really had plans of your own.  When I saw you my heart melted.  I've never felt more joy or more fear"
-Krista's Journal, August 18, 2008

"I'm tired, overweight, grumpy, unorganized, forgetful and perpetually behind schedule, but I am acutely aware of how blessed I am."
-Krista's Journal, January 18, 2009

"I have not found anything better than the sight of my baby smiling, the sound of her little voice, the smell of graham crackers on her tiny sticky fingers or the feeling of her soft fluffy hair.  She is better than sunshine, simply perfect"
-Krista's Journal, July 11, 2009

"Happy Birthday Emma!  What a great year"

One Year Ago Today.....

I had the most awesome work baby shower EVER! I just got these pictures from my friend who has saved them a whole year! Thanks!! I wish you could see the number of people who came to celebrate. Thanks to everyone who attended. I remember someone commenting that 31 weeks was kinda early to be having a baby shower. :) I can't help but look at these two naive parents-to-be and think about the journey we had in store for us.  I also can't believe I weighed 180 pounds in these pictures!!

The Food!!
My "Emma" cake

P.S.  It is totally worth the laugh to click on these pictures and stare in shock at the size of my feet.  That was not a fun part of the pregnancy.  Also one year ago today we were doing this.

Still sick

At least her flu test was negative!

Puckers Prohibited!

This blog is, until further notice, an anti-kissing blog. I can't help it. It only brings trouble. I say this with love, if you are some free spirited happy hippie who believes in spreading the love. Get lost. You are not welcome here. kidding! Wondering why mommy isn't "feelin the love?" Let me explain.

Emma has a love, no scratch that, a passion for kissing. She kisses her parents, her teachers, her classmates, Daisy dog, and the mailman if we would allow it. Not once, not twice. She kisses to infinity and has even made a couple of boys cry with her kisses (more on that later). Well, this all is so sweet and so innocent right? WRONG! Those kisses are loaded with germs! Emma now has a double ear infection, sore throat, cough, runny nose, fever...you name it! And guess what? So do all the other kids at daycare...and mommy. I do believe my child is the spreader of this little bug. She is the daycare pandemic. So if you see that sweet little pucker of hers pointing in your direction. Run. Just run away. Save yourself. It is too late for me.
